What's New for the 2025 Subaru Impreza
The 2025 Subaru Impreza carries over unchanged from the previous model year, which kicked off an all-new generation for the little hatchback. While much of the base and entry-level trims stuck with the same basics - a small, efficient engine, standard all-wheel drive, five-door hatchback design, etc… - there was plenty that excited our team of Subaru experts in Reno.
Notably, the 2024 Impreza added the RS trim, a sporty version that competes in the sought-after "hot hatch" segment that Carson City drivers with a taste for performance and peppiness love. That edition, which of course carries over for 2025, uses a 182-horsepower engine, considerably more powerful than the standard 2.0-liter setup. The fuel tank also became considerably larger, meaning any fill-up around Reno will take you farther along Route 40 and beyond.
Plenty of cabin updates also marked major changes during the last redesign of the Impreza. The Sport and RS trims get the Subaru brand's fairly new 11.6-inch tablet-style touchscreen, which works wonderfully with the standard smartphone integration apps that are so helpful to have while you're on the go in your new Impreza.
Performance
Under the hood of this brand-new Subaru Impreza, drivers will find two engine options to choose from. The top-of-the-line RS trim level ships with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, pumping out 182 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque. A continuously variable automatic transmission powers the standard all-wheel-drive system, giving you unmatched traction in a hatchback vehicle.
Technology
Great tech can be found everywhere in the Subaru Impreza. The base model is generously equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which can connect to the seven-inch dual touchscreen infotainment setup.
