How to Find a Vehicle with Top Safety Ratings in Reno

When you look at the different used vehicles, you might see rating from the IIHS or NHTSA. These safety ratings are based on crashes and tests performed by different agencies. The IIHS, or Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, is a non-profit group by insurance companies. It performs five tests and awards ratings of poor to good based on the results.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is operated by the federal government. It conducts four tests for each car and awards one to five stars, with a five-star rating as the highest. A five-star rating on a side impact test means that riders have a low risk of injury in that type of accident.
