Subaru announced recently that the 2017 Impreza, when equipped with optional EyeSight Driver Assist Technology, earned a Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). When equipped with both EyeSight and LED steering responsive headlights, the Impreza received a Top Safety Pick+ award.
In a press release, Thomas J. Doll, president and chief operating officer, Subaru of America, Inc., said, “Safety is our top priority at Subaru, and each year we continue to improve and innovate the safety features and technology in our vehicles.”
The 2017 Subaru Impreza boasts an extensive array of standard features, such as STARLINK multimedia system with a 6.5-inch touchscreen, a multi-function display with fuel economy information, security system with engine immobilizer, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility and much more.
To earn a 2017 Top Safety Pick+ rating, a vehicle must receive a "good" rating in all five of the IIHS crashworthiness tests (small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraints) and an "advanced" or "superior" rating for front crash prevention and an "acceptable" or "good" headlight rating (new for 2017).
