Recently, Subaru of America Inc. announced that a Subaru WRX STI Type RA NBR Special set a new lap record for a four-door sedan at the famed Nürburgring Norsschleife race track. Designed to showcase the sedan's capabilities, the vehicle dashed to a time of 6:57.5 over the 12.8-mile course, as verified by track officials using Nürburgring timing equipment.

Subaru built the custom WRX STI Type RA NBR Special with a rally spec 2.0-liter Boxer engine and Subaru symmetrical all-wheel drive. This time-attack car has now set lap records at the Isle of Man TT, The Goodwill Festival of Speed hill climb and the Nürburgring Norsschleife.

In a press release, Dominick Infante, Subaru Product Communications manager, commented, "We brought the WRX STI Type RA NBR Special here to set a record and call attention to the WRX STI Type RA that we will launch later this year. The WRX STI Type RA promises a great deal, with improved performance and styling and even better handling dynamics than the current car."

At Lithia Reno Subaru, we're looking forward to the new WRX STI Type RA's arrival. Our showroom at 2270 Kietzke Lane in Reno proudly serves Subaru drivers from the Reno, Truckee, Sparks and Sun Valley areas.
